Aptus co-hosts launch seminar - "What's Happening in the Brains of our Children?"
Last week, Aptus co-hosted the launch seminar for the Sensory First Nations project in Rama First Nation, in partnership with Anishinabek Nation and Aquilla OT Services.
Families and professionals attended, learning about the nervous system, child development and how sensory inputs support success. The Sensory First Nations project is funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and now with additional funding from the Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration.
Up next, Aptus and its partners will visit three First Nations five times before fall 2018 for sensory therapy, assessments and expressive arts therapy. A final report will be shared with First Nations, Ontario’s Ministries, Developmental Services partners and across social media.
