Message from the President and CEO

Wrap Text around Image Aptus Treatment Centre supports children and adults with complex disabilities through cutting-edge programs, services and an array of learning, living and community-focused environments.

The treatment centre attracts therapists, educators and primary support team members with a passion for furthering the development and achievement of people with developmental disabilities with mental health concerns, including severe autism, schizophrenia and communication spectrum disorder. We use an individualized approach which seeks to develop the individual based on each person's unique strengths and challenges rather than a uniform therapy for a particular disorder or disability. We share insights and best practices with parents, teachers and treatment programs across Canada.

Aptus is a human-focused organization with a mission to support people with complex disabilities to be the best they can be.  We receive the support of our health and education ministries, but just as equally the support of loyal donors, including parents and community members who know first-hand the need for and the impact of this work. Throughout the year, we offer tours at our children's school programs and adult day programs - which offer sensory, art and work-readiness programs in addition to the leading multi-sensory tools and environments. We also invite you to participate in community programs offered regularly at our new Aptus Teaching Landscape.
